PicoCount 2500
The PicoCount 2500 is an automatic traffic counter used to collect vehicle traffic data on roadways. It collects data from one or two road tubes (rubber hose) stretched across the road. It can be used to collect data for traffic volume, vehicle classifications, and/or vehicle speeds.
The PicoCount 2500 uses new and cutting edge technologies to bring you the best counter on the market. Since we are using components with new technology and high availability, we are able to offer our counter at a very reasonable price. Our counter design is a "life of product" design, meaning that there is no battery replacement and no repairs. The unit is completely sealed and cannot be opened, making it extremely weather resistant.
The PicoCount 2500 timestamps all hose hits. It can be used for volume studies or for classification/speed studies. The software (TrafficViewer Pro) has FHWA and AustRoads classifications schemes built-in, and it allows for complete customization of the schemes or creation of new schemes.
TrafficViewer Pro is the windows software used to download and create reports from the PicoCount 2500 data. There is no charge for the software, it's a free download.

PicoCount 2500 Accessories
Our download cables are custom cables. You will need at least one of these cables to download data from your PicoCount 2500 unit(s).
The CountBuddy accessory is a small optional accessory that can be used to verify hoses are connected and the unit is storing hose hits. A laptop with our TrafficViewer Pro software works just as well, but some prefer a quick way to verify the setup with no laptop involved.
PicoCount 2500 Packages
We do offer counter packages, listed below, for first time buyers this is by far the most popular choice. These are complete packages which include all accessories needed to fully set up a counter and road tubes. If this is your first time using a counter and you want all the necessary equipment to do a count right away, then this is what you are looking for.
Standard Package
This package is the recommended package for most applications. It includes all hardware to setup and perform counts on paved roadways.

- Two fifty foot rolls of rubber (EPDM) hose with end plugs. Hose size: 3/8"OD x 3/16"ID (9.5mm OD x 4.8mm ID)

Drive-Thru Package
Our Drive-Thru Package is specifically for those who would like to collect counts in drive-thrus, parking lots, or other similar applications. This package contains less hose, and fewer anchors/grips (as the hoses won't be moved around a lot). This package also includes some hose grips that are easier to use for the casual user.
This package contains the following items:
- One PicoCount 2500 counter
- One USB download cable
- Two twenty-five foot rolls of rubber (EPDM) hose with end plugs.

Rural Package
The rural package includes some spikes that can be used to anchor the hoses on roadways that are hard-packed gravel or that don't have shoulders to anchor into.
